Description
Spending a semester abroad is a unique opportunity for students in the Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence programme to broaden their academic, cultural, and personal horizons. The exchange abroad allows students to study at one of our international partner institutions, typically during the first or second semester of their third year. Students remain enrolled at BUas while taking a full-time academic programme elsewhere, earning 30 ECTS credits that can be counted toward their graduation requirements.
Through an exchange abroad, students can explore different academic perspectives, expand their professional networks, and develop cross-cultural communication skills — all of which are essential for a globally oriented data science career.
Content
Students choose a host institution from our list of partner universities and follow a pre-approved study programme in a related field, such as data science, AI, computer science, or digital innovation. The course content varies by university, but should align with the intended learning outcomes of the BUas curriculum and must be approved by the exchange coordinator in advance.
In addition to academic coursework, students are encouraged to participate in campus life and engage with local communities to enrich their international experience.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the first two years of the ADS&AI programme.
- Approval of an exchange plan by the exchange coordinator.
- Sufficient academic standing and motivation.
- Language requirements, if applicable, based on the host university.
